Its about choosing the right tool for the job. Wordpress will often be perfect for the job if you're just doing a simple blog, in fact I'm still using Wordpress here on my blog for that reason .. EE will work better for more advanced sites. But as this post shows, keeping an eye on security updates is more important if you're running WordPress.

Luckily updating WP is a lot easier than EE. In fact when approving your comment just now I got a message in the admin area that a new WP version was out. And voilá, with the click of a button:

Downloading update from http://wordpress.org/wordpress-2.9.1.zip.

Unpacking the update.

Verifying the unpacked files

Installing the latest version

Upgrading database

WordPress upgraded successfully

Nice :)

that is a good point, i mean there is so many stories of wordpress being hacked that is time for people view alternatives, but wordpress is in people minds as the top "blog" platform and engine labs hasn't made a top effort to promote a template system that is appealing.

Example you dont have as many books on EE as on wordpress, i love EE and is my platform when doing php cms kind of work.

Elis Lab has promote their templating system as an easy solution so that designers know and can be exited about.

I am with you on this one.

By the way cool site this one of yours.
